French rusticity in Kangaroo Valley

All the personal touches have been added now and our house feels very 'homey'. This morning I sat on the back porch with my cup of coffee and was conversing with two recently born calves in the adjacent paddock whilst their mother kept a close eye. A pair of ducks waddled pass the clothesline. This is my favourite part of the day; the house still sound asleep and I just go about cleaning and pampering its corners. Buddy the old gentlemanly dog stretches on the sofa and Matisse our cat ventures at the back door. The rising sun gently filters in the kitchen. No sound except a flock of birds hovering over the surrounding gumtrees. Countryside at its best!
